Useful video, but was a bit light on detail.
Some of the challenges mentioned are directly relatable to my own personal experience (finding yourself in a situation where your boss is abscent from work), would of been useful if the point was elaborated on a little further.
The need to face challenges head on and work through mistakes reinforces the continuous improvement ethos.
Being fairly new to middle management in a Local Authority, then need to be resilient in the role is key. All staff & departments are faced with the same challenges- Work load, time/ capacity to complete tasks, short deadlines making it hard to plan days/ weeks. As a manager i need to reinforce the need for a work life balance and be seen to lead by example, which is sometimes easier said than done. The welfare of the staff is key to role performance, including myself, which is something i need to work harder on to improve.

It was good to listen to a seasoned manager, talking about her current role & experiences during her career.
Some valid points were made regarding facing challenges head-on & maintaining a healthy work-life balance which ultimately contributes to role performance which will benefit the team you lead.
Some more detail relating to specific leadership challenges (especially people management) would have been useful.
