After listening to the speaker, I fully support what is being said on personal touch and knowing your people and what makes them tick. I have personally gone through this on the giving and receiving side and I can vouch that it works and you/ your colleague will feel that you care for them/ you are being cared for.

I believe that one of the pre-requisite of being a good leader is personal touch.

The downtime to think, as what the speaker mentioned... getting in office early before everyone else does, the stillness and calm, and have time to reflect as office hours are quite demanding is also very true and I am an advocate of this.

During the pandemic I have not been doing much of this as I would like to and after hearing the speaker , I will now endeavour.

Something that opens up my eye is 'give the best of 30 seconds' comment from the speaker.

When you are an experienced and senior finance professional, you are somehow or other forced to think like a CEO to run the whole finance function to cater for the compony as a whole.
