Interesting article on the Future considerations of Board room selection; getting the right mix in terms of Gender, Diversity, Age , Race and Talent are key desires to get the Genesis in the boardroom right.

Diversity and gender gap still apparent and well behind the expected target to reach gender parity in 40 years time; gender growth has increased by +5% over the last decade (from 15% to 20%) so there is some work to be done here.

I currently sit on the Board at my current employer with all members Male; can we do more to establish a better balance? do we have the right calibre of members? are we adding value to the organisation or is this just the run of the mill exercise meeting every quarter?  The article brings these questions to the table.

The region I work in, tends to result in Board that are male-dominated and not that diversified. Culturally getting the board to become more open and diversified is a slow moving process - unfortunately.

Any business should look to have the best team managing it. If they keep the selection criteria down to the same group then the business will stand still and fail.
The business must embrace all diversity and take risks - some people may not fit or take a while to settle  in. But in the process the rest all move a little in the new direction
