Good article and very true that  "Make sure you present information in a format that's easy to digest so readers can quickly understand trends and issues. If executives don't understand what they are looking at, they will ask for more data to try to make some sense of it."  There is a tendency to over complicate reporting so that executives become bogged down in what they are looking at and find it difficult to focus on the key messages within that data.

Although some commonly understood areas were touched upon, such as the need for cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing & taking joint ownership of problem areas, I believe digging deeper into these issues could have been useful.
What caught my attention was the way finance deep to adapt in the management of their budgets & spend when considering new technologies & systems which can be accessed at reduced costs.

Interesting read. The problem I face with IT is with time, they work for all our European sites not just us meaning their priorities are often different to mine.

I definitely see a good relationship between finance and IT in my organization but there is still a lack of ultimate utilization of the tools that we have at our disposal.  One of our issues is the bespoke nature of our systems mean that we do have a close requirement for IT.  This isn't the reason the article stated for the need for the relationship but I do feel that we are where we need to be.

The article was interesting but not anything above what I already understood.

Useful insight into the 5 areas of challenge and what should be done. Technology changes seems to be a key barrier and will continue to be.
