This was a unseful video in highlighting the importance of not just knowing your own business, but also the wider economic environment. The PESTEL analysis was particularly interesting and relevant in a world which is increasing in complexity and interconnections.

For CFOs, proactive engagement and building effective working relationship with regulators are two "must dos"of stakeholder engagement. This short video is very informative- thanks.

The key to developing effective strategies is to understand the markets (and potential markets) for the companies products and services. This includes the regulatory environment.

This short video provides a good summary of this requirement.

This highlights the challenges facing State Funded Organisations in Ireland.  We are increasingly having key decisions (procurement etc.) dictated by funders who do not understand the market we operate in and the need to have strong local relationships with suppliers.

It also highlights the need for us to be better advocates for our sector and partners with these funders to ensure that they build their understanding.

A reminder and refresher on PESTEL tool to help with strategic conversations and drivers. I did not follow each of the PESTAL components but will do now as a structure to develop and force board thinking and discussions to ensure we are all aware of our surroundings and are able to mitigate business risks.
