Some pre-studies need to be done before each negotiation on your countparties to learn their common attitude, characters and compensating interests. Eloquence is not the essencial skill for a good negotiator, but she/he needs to be rationale.

Included some interesting points - especially 2 key ones around identifying common goals/objectives of both parties and looking to make it a win/win situation wherever possible. Also to recognise your weaknesses,, such as emotiveness, and include others in the team who will stick to the facts only !

A good negotiator does not have to be eloquent, but he/she needs to be rationale. Piror to any negotiation, analysis has be done for different shareholders on whether they have common/conflicting/compensating interests.  One shall learn rational negotiation skill and practice to improve.
