Can see the need of ERP in my former company's needs vs the current accounting system need, both very different and industry fit vs a system used is very important

A good high-level view of accounting systems & ERP platforms.  Basic accounting systems & related modules are clearly sufficient for small scale companies, ERP being utilized more for organizations which focus on more complex manufacturing processes & service based operations (managing materials, WIP, distribution etc).

A follow-up deep-dive of ERP would be useful. 

Good overview providing examples of what is the difference between an accounting system and ERP. Understanding the many attributes of an ERP system is helpful as these systems are sophisticated and can provide important information depending on the type of business concerned.
