This is also something I practice as a matter of course and finding interests between me and a third party is part of building relationships to ensure the team ethic is enhanced.

I built certain relationships in my career - at Aquaspersions and Frog Education - with the Production/Operations Managers - again, these were pivotal in my understanding of the business and helped me appreciate the mechanics of the ever-changing business which we were involved with.

At SIL Holdings Ltd, on an Interim FC assignment, I found it useful to discuss any concerns I had with any of the Senior Management team and this helped me get elevated to be heard and understood by them all as well learning quickly the operational side of the business in a short space of time.
